This sort of Hunger Games-esque approach is apparently wildly popular on multiple Minecraft servers. Were we playing, or just failing at using our controls? Who knows?Įverything culminated in a death match in an arena ringed by lava, where our team quickly coordinated to smack the opposing Xbox players into the moat and win the game.

I have no idea why I wanted this pumpkin, but I accepted! How often do you get a free pumpkin? Another time, another player and I jumped at each other for several seconds instead of actually swinging our swords and fighting. At one point I was offered a pumpkin in exchange for leaving an enemy player alone. The variety in the environment and chest contents made for some goofy scenarios as we all stumbled along, vying for gold swords and wildly swinging at one another. Again, I was introduced almost immediately to what makes Minecraft so exciting for people to play together and stream for one another. My brief adventures on Lifeboat transformed me into a believer in the potential and power of Minecraft.Ĭhests were plentiful, but so was the other team. Someone made all this? And I could play with all these other people at the same time right here? The mere act of jumping around the map like an idiot with everyone else completely and immediately transformed the experience. I know that may sound like a no-brainer if you’ve played a ton of Minecraft before, but when you only play alone for so long, just seeing another person you can positively interact with is an exciting discovery on its own. Lifeboat is one of the most popular community servers out there, featuring a myriad of activities such as Capture the Flag, Survivor, adventures, and plenty more.Īs a console player, I was less familiar with these player-made servers, so I was entranced just by standing around in the Lobby.

Microsoft and Mojang know well the importance of the vibrant communities that define the Minecraft universe, and thus announced at the Xbox E3 2017 event that they’re bringing cross-platform play, along with creator-run servers, to Minecraft. Sure, I knew creators on PC were making elaborate designs and worlds, but to what end? My little corner of the Minecraft world felt lonely, and I put the game down not too long after I tried it, confused as to its popularity. My little sister loves Minecraft, and spends hours on PC designing elaborate games, stories, and visual masterpieces for the enjoyment of other players.

I picked up Minecraft for the very first time on Nintendo Switch last month, and while I had some fun wandering the wilds of the Mario skin pack universe and dabbled in block stacking, I felt strangely limited. The Minecraft segment at Xbox’s E3 revealed a startling surprise: cross-platform play and servers, opening worlds of new opportunity across the Minecraft community. This server has gone through history despite only releasing in 2020! Kit PvP is really fun, but Fill The Gaps is dead. Galaxite: I remember when it was released. Creative and Capture the Wool are fun though.Ĥ. I’m pretty sure they also removed Battle Royale. Lifeboat: Lifeboat would be a rank higher if they didn’t remove Spleef, but they did. It is the only Bedrock Featured Spleef server since Lifeboat removed it…ĥ. Pixel Paradise: It’s kind of unfair to rate a new server like this, but the main lobby is very laggy when the music starts playing. (Dungeons is fun though) Also, the mini games at the InPvP lobby are well, not that active.Ħ. Mineville (InPvP): It’s kinda boring in my opinion, everything’s pay to play and even then, you only get stuff like Dungeons.
